Our client is a North American steel manufacturer with manufacturing facilities located throughout North America, Europe, the U.A.E and currently opening a new state of the art manufacturing facility in the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. The company has established the company in Bangkok and is currently seeking an experienced steel based experienced manager to head their factories construction management and eventual manufacturing.

The Factory Manager will report to the expatriate Global Operations Director based in Bangkok and oversee the construction and eventual leadership of a newly built steel manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be initially based in Bangkok overseeing contractors and regularly doing site visits to ensure quality and performance standards are continually met. Eventually the position will be relocated to the Eastern Seaboard and oversee equipment installation and manpower needs to being manufacturing. Additionally the Factory Manager will be required to align their colleagues to determine process improvement, best practices and continuous improvements with lean manufacturing processes to lower production costs whenever possible. The Factory Manager will implement new practices to ensure our client’s manufacturing are continually streamlined and shortages and new production lines are maximized to their fullest potential.

The Factory Manager will be qualified to degree level in an engineering or related subject and have at least 10 years of direct working experience managing manufacturing operations in the steel industry. Additionally the sought after candidate will have a strong background in Lean Sigma and procurement and/or contract manufacturing and well as have a very strong background in international certification practices (ISO) as well as a strong background in commercials. The Factory Manager will also need to have a high level of initiative, be able to work independently and anticipate potential risks and issues to avoid production issues to prevent deliveries to our client’s global sales operations in addition to having very good English abilities.
