HEAD OF MERCHANDISING / BUYING
The Head of Merchandising will report to the Expatriate Managing Director and take ownership of all purchasing operations nationwide. This will involve managing negotiations with a wide variety of suppliers, running and implementing promotions as well as taking responsibility for budgets within a popular and expansive category. The Head of Merchandising will be responsible for managing subordinate Buyers and be involved in all purchasing and marketing related responsibilities within the mentioned category. The successful candidate will also be required to travel on occasion to visit attend fashion trade shows to determine the new product ranges with the intent of providing our client’s with the best selection of products for their online retail operations. The successful candidate will have very good English skills and be qualified to at least degree level in marketing/purchasing or a relevant subject with at least 10+ years purchasing experience within the fashion industry with a strong focus on international and regional brands and their representatives. The successful candidate will have good brand relationships and connections and enjoy working in a fast paced highly competitive retail environment which requires highly dynamic professionals with strong negotiation skills and a keen insight to consumer buying behaviors.
