Our client is a large multinational company with various brands and a global market share leader in the cosmetics and beauty (cosmetics) sector. As part of a well-known Asian Multination Conglomerate with various high-end skin care and cosmetics brands sold internationally, our client now has an opening in their Thailand brand of operations for a Korean speaker to take on this crucial role in the following capacity.
The Purchasing Controller Manager’s duties and responsibilities will include overseeing the internal & budget control and process improvement, and sourcing suppliers and maintaining the relationships with new and existing ones. The successful candidate’s further responsibilities are outlined as follows:
- Obtaining quotes from different suppliers and assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns
- Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Negotiating and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost
- Purchasing supplies, materials, services, and parts for the company
- Maintaining knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly
- Reviewing POs and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies
- Collaborating with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing
- Communicating with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow
- Promoting clear understanding of financial key figures and costs within Procurement and be an ambassador of compliance within the function
- Promoting clear understanding of financial key figures and costs within Procurement, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists
Qualifications:
- Open to Korean and Thai Nationals
- Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in business, or related field with a subject /coursework related to purchasing / inventory control management
- At least 6+ years of buying, purchasing, or sourcing experience required with supervisory experience preferred
- Experience from Beauty / Cosmetics industry is a plus
- Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and Outlook
- Strong negotiation skills
- Sound time-management and organizational skills
- Fluent in English, Korean and Thai
