Our client is nongovernmental organization based in the U.S. The aim of the organization is to rescue young girls and women who are trafficked, abused, and exploited by criminal syndicates and shut down these trafficking networks. They also provide aftercare services including medical support and psychological counselling to victims, assisting them in their process of rehabilitation and reintegration into the society. Our client aims to expand its operations to SE Asia, setting up their regional base in Bangkok with the Regional Director SE Asia assuming responsibility for the entire SE Asia region.
The Regional Director SE Asia will report directly to the CEO, an American national, and will be responsible for overseeing the establishment of the organization in Bangkok and operations in SE Asia.
- Responsible for the set up and management from the ground up of an newly set up NGO in the Region.
- Oversee five local teams and be responsible for the activities across the SE Asia region.
- Lead the operational management and ensure the regional team are acting in accordance with the organization’s objectives.
- Formulate and implement strategies and plans that align with short-term and long-term objectives.
- Manage the organizational structure by recruiting team members for the following teams: community, rescue, security, legal, and government liaison.
- Lead and motivate subordinates and develop high-performing managerial team.
- Work together with third party supporters of the organization.
- Build and maintain trust relations with supporters and act as a point of contact for important for key supporters.
- Maintain a deep and up-to-date knowledge of the issues surrounding sex trafficking.
- Represent the organization during any committee meetings or any situations that require a company representative.
- Participate in industry-related events or associations that will enhance the organization’s reputation and potential for success.
- Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
- Evaluate the success of the organization in reaching its goals.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to master or doctorate level, preferably in a business- or legal-related field.
- 10 + years of project management experience within a nongovernmental or non-profit organization. Regional experience across SE Asia is an advantage.
- Previous experience at a senior level in a Human Rights, Child Protection or Campaign (NGO) Organization is a Must
- Deep knowledge and understanding of sex trafficking in Thailand and SE Asia region.
- Ability to train, develop, and manage large teams and build relationships amongst the teams.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Able to Speak Thai and fluent in a SE Asian Language
