With their production sites in Europe and Asia and commercial operations in over 90 countries around the world, our client is currently growing their SE Asia manufacturing operations plant in Samut Prakarn and has an opening for an experienced SAP ABAP professional to take on the following role:
The SAP ABAP Technical Consultant will be reporting to the expatriate SAP Service Manager – Global, and will mainly be implementing, upgrading, and configuring various solutions in company’s ERP system. This sought-after position will be involving in process design, development, and implementation and assuming the following main responsibilities:
- Ensuring integration system activities including monitoring the technical architecture (particularly scalability, availability, and archiving)
- Reviewing and analyzing technical needs, and providing consulting services on new and existing initiatives
- Undertaking performance tuning activities for SAP integration activities
- Acting as technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying application issues and providing timely solutions
- Understanding the needs and requirements of users by coordinating with SAP functional team and/or Key-Users and seeking clarity on every minute detail to provide the best possible solution
- Transforming business function requirements into technical program specs to code, test, and debug programs
- Managing operational support, performing work during change windows as well as providing on call support as required by the team
- Providing technical support to the end users in the form of troubleshooting guidelines and modifications to the system after it has been delivered
- Engaging other technical team members in the design, delivery, and deployment of solutions
- Assisting in the investigation and resolution of system or process related issues
- Developing, coding, documenting, executing unit tests, systems, integration, and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity
Qualifications required:
- Qualified to a degree level in business administration or any related subject
- At least 5+ years of SAP ABAP experience with ability to code in ABAP with best practices
- Hands-on experience on / familiar with the following SAP ABAP functions: DDIC, Reports, Interactive Reporting, Module Pool, SAP Scripts, Smart forms, User Exits, BAdis, Enhancements Framework, Interface, RFC, BDC, BAPI, Debugging, Performance Tuning, Interface, SAP CPI
- Good understanding of SAP development life cycle and capability to perform analysis, design and development activities in accordance with development methodology
- Experience with SAP interfaces and Integration using ALE/IDOC, Flat File, RFC, BAPI, Web-Services
- Good understanding of SAP business processes (OTC, P2P, etc.) in ECC and S/4HANA
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all team members and Partners
- Customer-oriented: committed to understanding the concerns of customers, demonstrating a positive attitude, and taking swift action to resolve issues with operation
- Very good command of spoken and written English
