​Our client is a global leader in the academic publication sector established in Europe over 100 years ago and partnering with the world’s leader higher education sector internationally. With publications that cover a wide variety of subjects and faculties our client has been the market share leader in the University publication sector since their establishment. Due to an overwhelming demand for their books, our client is expanding their sales team in Thailand and have an opening for an experience Publication Sales Professional to take on the following role:

The Account Manager will report to the expatriate Regional Sales Manager based abroad and assume a new role in our client’s Thailand office to assume the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to meet and increase the company’s sales revenue.

  • Achieving and exceeding annual territory sales targets across each profit centre, contributing to the overall revenue and profit objectives of the division

  • Cultivate strong, holistic relationships with the customer base, working to ensure that trading with each account is sustainable, profitable and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Collects and disseminates market, competitor, and customer feedback, including passing on leads where the customer and business would be better served by a different channel/offering

  • Establish a strategic approach to the short, medium and long term business on territory, to ensure that activity is both relevant and flexible to the evolving trading environment over time

  • Prepares for, attends, and contributes to sales meetings and events to build strategic awareness and to gather market relevant intelligence

  • Actively liaise with stakeholder departments or groups within the business to enhance company’s coverage of the territory – includes credit control, editorial, marketing and sales support

The Account Manager will meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a medical related subject.

  • 2+ years of working in a sales environment, with an understanding of the demands placed on sales and the support needs of a sales team

  • Knowledge of the academic publishing industry an advantage

  • Competent user of core MS Office package

  • The ability to work independently and pro-actively, with awareness of when to need to delegate tasks

  • Willingness to travel extensively on territory and to conferences as required by the company

  • Language skills – Excellent Thai (Spoken and Written) and English (Spoken and Written) a MUST
