With the recent development of their SE Asia local office in Bangkok, there is an opening for an experienced legal professional to take on the following role.
The sought-after candidate will work in an independent function being the primary legal and compliance representative of our client’s Thailand brand of operations and reports to the Regional Legal Director based abroad. The role will hand
Monitor and support on business permits/licenses, including BOI and IBC-International Business Center.
Develop and oversee internal administrative works, processes, and records for the legal team.
Liaise with government officials, external consultants, and other outsiders on all legal matters.
Managing the operation of the legal compliance program and driving the group and local compliance policies to the Thailand market.
Delivering recommendations and guidance on compliance, ethics, and business integrity in alignment with local laws and regulations.
Developing, updating, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
Working with internal parties to roll out effective compliance training programs.
Controlling the compliance program performance and delivering action plans for improvement.
Controlling evaluation reports and presenting compliance performance analysis to the management.
Promoting employees' awareness of new and existing policies and procedures to embed the culture of compliance across the business.
Graduated to degree level in a law degree with a presence to those with graduate degree qualifications.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate/commercial legal in a reputable law firm or the legal department of a business organization, preferably within the insurance sector.
Strong ability to manage time effectively, with a track record in handling multiples projects and cases with a multitude of stakeholders
Open-minded with ‘can do’ attitude, and well-organized with a detail-oriented person
Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong analytical thinking
Excellent written and verbal skills in English
