Regional Technical Customer Service manager - Packaging Automation

Bangkok / Up to 180K THB/Month

Our client is one of the world’s largest packaging automation manufacturers = that automates and sells packaging solutions for the some of the world’s most well-known companies. With a presence in Thailand for the past 15 years, operating a regional Operations Center and production facility in the Bangna Area of Bangkok, our client is seeking an experienced Regional Customer Services Manager to serve the regional operations and take on the following role:

The Regional Customer Services Manager will be reporting to the General Manager, based in Thailand, and also to the Global Customer Service Director, based abroad. This sought-after position will be leading the Customer Services teams in taking care of aftersales customers in SEA and providing them all the aftersales support activities, and will include the following main responsibilities:

  • Developing budgets for the business unit, setting goals, interviewing prospective employees, and meeting with other unit managers to discuss different strategies
  • Working with the team members to develop acceptable service standards and KPIs and setting systems in place
  • Setting up and maintaining a database tracking customer equipment in order to pro-actively schedule services
  • Planning and scheduling all service activities with service team personnel to ensure timely service is delivered to all customers
  • Working closely with the senior service technicians for technical advice and ensuring a rapid response to breakdown situations including parts supply
  • Marketing the service department and establishing long term service engagements with clients servicing equipment
  • Enforcing the discipline to get paperwork, reports, expenses, and invoices completed soon after work has been done
  • Keeping track of costs, hours spent on the job and expenses incurred
  • Arranging for regular training of service technicians to ensure the team is up to date with the latest technology offered by company’s international technology partners
  • Suggesting developments in service practices and standards to improve the efficiency of the service team

Qualifications Required:

  • Qualified to Degree level in related field (in engineering field would be beneficial)
  • 8+ years of customer service/aftersales service experience (with packaging machinery and/or bulk handling equipment would be beneficial)
  • Well-developed selling skills are essential
  • Strong understanding of how industrial operations work, their maintenance strategies, and the buying behavior of the client’s maintenance planners
  • Willingness / ability to travel is a must, and a valid driver’s license is required
  • Very good command in both spoken and written English and Thai, with excellent communication skills and proficient computer skills
