Business Development Manager - Steel

Our client is a leading supplier of specialty metals from Singapore who supplies a wide range of high-quality steel, aluminum, and super alloys to their local and international clients in various industries including semiconductor, automotive, oil & gas, etc. Due to their overseas expansion, our client is looking for an experiences Business Development Manager to take up a new role in Thailand in the following capacity

The Business Development Manager will be the first hire of the company in Thailand and will be reporting to the expatriate Sales Director, based in Singapore. The successful candidate will be identifying business opportunities, developing business, and utilizing the business network for generating sales for the company. The overall job responsibilities of this sought-after position are outlined as follows:

  • Conducting market research and competitor and customer analysis
  • Prospecting for business, scheduling appointments, and visiting customers to review their product needs and determining opportunities
  • Visit potential customers for new business, develop and maintain healthy business relationships
  • Providing customers with quotations; negotiating the terms and conditions to close sales
  • Being able to close a sale and collect payments promptly
  • Developing sales strategies to achieve organizational sales goals and revenues, as well as to achieve the sales target
  • Cultivating effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key accounts
  • Tracking, collating, and interpreting sales figure
  • Analyzing data to identify sales opportunities
  • Attending trade meetings and industry conventions

Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level in any related fields, preferable engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experiences (preferably in OEM market and end-user sales of stainless steel)
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
  • Strong techno commercial sales skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving and problem analysis skills
  • Very good command of both spoken and written English and Thai
  • Computer Literacy
  • Able to travel occasionally
