Plant Manager - Automotive

Outside Bangkok / Up to 150K THB/Month

Our client is one of the world’s most recognized automotive companies from the US who manufactures Automotive Safety Systems with over 100,000 Global employees and over 18 manufacturing plants internationally. With over 25 years in Thailand, our client operates several manufacturing plants in Thailand that supply their products to the World Leading OEM Automotive Manufacturers and is currently expanding their operations and has an opening for an experienced Plant Manager to play a key role in their Thailand Operations center as follows:

The Plant Manager will be reporting to the Japanese President of Manufacturing and will mainly be acting as a business partner to the management team in shaping the organization that excels in serving its OEM Automotive customers. This will involve managing the operation and engineering for the products, as well as a sizable number of staffs. The successful candidate’s overall responsibilities are outlined follows:

  • Mapping and analyzing existing processes, line, and plant capacities; derive a gap analysis based on the future demand and propose an improvement plan to close the capacity gaps either by in-house expansion or tolling
  • Ensuring the plant operation function by implementing a sustainable quality system to deliver products in good quality products to customers’ on-time and does not receive major customer complaints
  • Managing Manufacturing Fixed Costs (MFC) and Variable Production Costs (VPC) carefully in order to work within the approved budget, to turn the cost savings initiatives into reality, and to ensure all approved Capex projects are implemented on-time and in-scope
  • Ensuring the Processing and concerns area in a healthy, safe, environmentally friendly, secure, and compliant manner
  • Providing and managing availability of all resources needed for all activities in Plant processing process
  • Setting up and maintaining protection plan for security of all property
  • Reporting Structure and Key Stakeholder

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering or Business Management field
  • Extensive experience in Automotive Manufacturing especially with Automotive OEM products (such as Die Casting, molding and Automotive Safety systems and products)
  • Strong in Process and operational safety, Health and Environmental management
  • Computer literacy with good command of both spoken and written English
  • Japanese speaking skills is highly preferred
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills, with good spirit teamwork
  • Good command of TQM, ISO, Lean, Six Sigma skills are preferred
