Purchasing Director - Chemicals / Manufacturing

Outside Bangkok / 320k/month

Our client is a multinational chemicals manufacturer with operations spanned across 172 countries and well-know for being one of the most progressive companies internationally. With several manufacturing facilities operating in Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard regional supplying their Asian customers, our client has an opening for an experienced procurement professional to take upon the following challenge:

The Purchasing Officer will be expected to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop procurement management strategies and best practices which ensures procurement progresses to effectively reap maximum value in line with the global procurement strategy.
  • Generate structural savings to deliver YOY bottom line enhanced revenue.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of their assigned categories' impact of price volatility on business performance.
  • Experienced in driving a “change management” process with direct internal customers.
  • Identify and integrate key partner suppliers into programs focused against service, supply cost reduction and logistics operations.
  • Continual improvement and development of procurement staff to deliver against company and department targets while striving for Best-in-Class status.
  • Efficiently/professional communicate to all levels of the company critical and timely information.
  • Execute purchasing process of Product Related goods and services e.g. raw materials, chemicals, packaging etc. to ensure that all required items for production use are called-off on a timely need basis.
  • Work safely, maintain safe working environment, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.


  • Thai National
  • Qualified to graduate degree level in a related field of subject.
  • Experience in Leadership, preferably leadership of intercultural teams
  • 10+ years purchasing / supply chain or related experience gained in a multi-national manufacturing company.
  • SAP & E-Procurement experience preferred and Certificate of CIPS is a plus
  • Process Development and Implementation (BPM) experience preferred
  • Very good English communication skills is a must.
