Area Sales Manager - Consumer Appliances

Our client is a regional distributor of some of the world’s most sought after cosmetics and Consumer Goods brands that has had a sizeable presence on the ASEAN market for over 50 years. With products ranging from the market share leader in color cosmetics, to child care and health related products, our client is seeking an experienced Up Country / General Trade Sales Manager to take on the following challenge.

The sought after candidate will be reporting to Sales General manager based abroad and will be required to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Build strong working relationship with distributor sales team
  • Build and develop the capability of sales personnel
  • Motivate sales team to achieve the agreed monthly distribution and promotion target
  • Conduct market analysis and sales analysis through basic data processing
  • Maintain existing account relationships to leverage organic growth in current customer base.
  • Develop joint business plans with customers to achieve growth objectives.
  • Manage promotional funds and activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow business in selected channels:
  • Develop business initiatives to grow in the direct channel to market
  • Roll out strategic business channel initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher a related subject.
  • 5 + years of sales and marketing experience within the FMCG sector
  • Previous sales / marketing experience in Traditional Trade channels.
  • Previous channel management (distributor) management as well as Modern Trade Key Account Experience is essential
  • Able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Able to travel up country on a regular basis.
  • Good presentation skills.
