Trade Lead - Health & Life Sciences - Embassy

Our client is a foreign embassy which is based in Bangkok. Their mission dedicated to expanding international trade, investment, and bilateral commercial partnerships in Thailand. At present, they have a vacancy available for Heath & Life Sciences Lead position to cover a 6-month maternity leave. This position will take strategic responsibility for shaping the health trade strategy, managing high-value commercial initiatives, and advising senior leadership on market access and policy.

TRADE LEAD – HEALTH & LIFE SCIENCES – EMBASSY

The Health & Life Sciences Trade lead will be collaborating with senior diplomats, trade officials, and Thai industry leaders to drive commercial growth and strategic goals in healthcare and life sciences. This will include the following duties and responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing the overall Health & Life Sciences Sector Strategy in Thailand aligned with institutional objectives.

• Designing and executing major trade campaigns, initiatives, and outward/inward missions in pharmaceuticals, medtech, genomics, and digital health. 

• Providing expert analysis on health policy, regulatory developments, and market access issues to senior decision-makers. Managing relationships with key local and international corporate accounts and building a pipeline of high-value commercial projects.

• Overseeing sector campaign budgets, procurement processes, and vendor management.

• Deputizing for the Head of Exports when required and contributing to Embassy-wide initiatives and cross-regional trade efforts. 

• Providing ad hoc support on other tasks and policy areas as required.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in health & life sciences, trade development, investment, or corporate strategy.

• Proven track record in leading strategic initiatives, policy engagement, and market entry/access work.

• Strong command of spoken and written English with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Strong project management, financial oversight, and decision-making skills with high autonomy.

• Proficiency in IT systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and adaptability to internal embassy systems.

• Ability to travel within Thailand and the broader region as required.

• Knowledge or background in data analytics, market trend analysis, or cross-cultural business environments is desirable.
