"What should we be paying for this role?" is one of the questions employers ask us most often, and it is also one of the easiest to get wrong. Pay too low against the real Bangkok market and the search drags on or the offer gets rejected at the last stage. Pay without a benchmark at all and you risk building inequity into your own team as you hire.

This guide sets out realistic 2026 monthly salary ranges for the professional and specialist roles employers most commonly ask Smart Search Recruitment to fill in Bangkok, alongside the market forces shaping pay this year. Mercer's regional forecasting puts Thailand's average salary increase for 2026 at 5.2%, with the strongest movement concentrated in energy, consumer goods and automotive.

    HOW TO READ THESE NUMBERS

The ranges below reflect professional and specialist roles at multinational companies and leading Thai employers, drawn from 2026 market salary survey data and cross-referenced against what we are seeing in live searches. Actual offers still vary by company size, sector and how urgently a role needs to be filled, so treat these as a starting point for a conversation, not a fixed price list. All figures are gross monthly base salary in Thai Baht; bonus, the customary 13th-month payment and benefits sit on top.

    FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿110,000-250,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿220,000-500,000 per month. Business-partnering and FP&A skills remain the most sought-after within finance this year, and employers who can show a candidate a route into a regional or group role tend to win the stronger candidates even without stretching the base salary.

    SALES AND COMMERCIAL

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿100,000-240,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿260,000-600,000 per month. Revenue-generating B2B roles continue to attract the most investment from employers, and candidates with a track record of new-market or new-channel growth, rather than just managing an existing book, command the top of these ranges.

    TECHNOLOGY, DATA AND AI

Technology and digital, experienced specialists and managers: ฿100,000-220,000 per month; directors and function heads: ฿240,000-500,000 per month. AI, data and analytics, experienced specialists and managers: ฿100,000-230,000 per month; directors and function heads: ฿220,000-420,000 per month. Cloud engineering, cybersecurity and data engineering remain the most competitive hires in this market, and candidates in those categories often carry multiple live offers.

    ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿110,000-220,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿230,000-450,000 per month. Automation and quality-control specialists are especially in demand on the Eastern Seaboard, and technical roles there can now match or even exceed equivalent Bangkok salaries, purely because of how scarce the right skill sets are outside the capital.

    SUPPLY CHAIN AND PROCUREMENT

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿100,000-225,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿200,000-500,000 per month. This is one of the widest bands in the market, reflecting how differently procurement and supply chain are scoped from one industry to the next; a manufacturing-heavy remit with plant-level responsibility tends to sit well above a purely office-based buying role.

    MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿90,000-220,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿250,000-500,000 per month. As with most functions this year, employers are budgeting cautiously but competing hard for the specific skills in short supply, and candidates with a genuine track record in digital channels continue to draw the most competitive offers.

    HUMAN RESOURCES

Experienced specialists and managers: ฿100,000-205,000 per month. Directors and function heads: ฿220,000-420,000 per month. HR business-partnering and talent-acquisition leadership are the two profiles we are asked to fill most often at the senior end, particularly at companies going through headcount growth or a restructuring of their Thailand operations.

    BY CAREER STAGE

Looking across career stages rather than functions, entry-level professional roles in Bangkok typically start around ฿22,000 per month. Mid-career professionals with five to seven years of experience sit at a median of roughly ฿60,000 per month. Senior managers generally clear ฿150,000 per month, and C-level executives sit at a median of around ฿350,000 per month, though this varies enormously by company size and sector. These figures are broad market medians rather than role-specific benchmarks, so use the function-level ranges above for a more precise comparison once you have a specific role in mind.

    WHAT'S DRIVING PAY IN 2026

Employers are approaching 2026 with a cautious-but-competitive mindset: overall salary budgets are being planned conservatively, in line with Mercer's 5.2% average increase forecast, but that average masks sharp variation underneath it. Where a specific skill set is genuinely scarce, whether that's cloud engineering, automation, or senior finance business-partnering, employers are still paying up to secure it, and candidates in those categories are fielding multiple offers rather than one. The practical result is a market where a generic role in a well-supplied function may see modest movement in 2026, while a hard-to-fill specialist role can move well ahead of the average.

    GETTING THE OFFER RIGHT

The single most common reason a strong offer gets rejected is a mismatch between what the employer benchmarked against and what the market has actually moved to since that benchmark was set. Revisit your numbers before opening a search rather than relying on last year's figures, build some flexibility into your range for an exceptional candidate rather than a "one number fits all" approach, and remember that base salary is only part of the decision for most candidates at the moment; bonus structure, the speed of the process, and the clarity of the role itself all weigh heavily too. Where we see offers fall through, it is rarely about the money alone; it is almost always about a slow process or a role that was not clearly scoped from the outset.
