New Product Development Specialist - Poultry - Smart Search Recruitment

Our client is an international company that is a leading provider of a complete food export service, headquartered in the United Kingdom. Our client’s Thailand organization is seeking an experienced Product Development Assistant professional to join their office in Bangkok, Thailand, in the following capacity.                                  

The Product Development Assistant will manage the end-to-end product development process, from advising suppliers on technical and regulatory requirements to coordinating samples, production timelines, and customer presentations. The role also requires maintaining accurate specifications, ingredient declarations, and supplier reference samples throughout the development cycle. This role will involve the following key responsibilities:

• Guide suppliers on the technical specifications required by customers during the development process
• Confirm that all developed products meet applicable laws and regulations in the destination market
• Submit sample requests and oversee project progress through to completion
• Coordinate with ingredient suppliers and food processors to produce product samples
• Adjust production sequencing to achieve optimal quality and cost efficiency
• Oversee the timeline and key milestones for new product development initiatives
• Drive ongoing enhancements to production processes
• Develop and deliver product presentations to customers
• Reach out to raw material suppliers when necessary to source samples or technical data
• Keep the new product development database current and accurate
• Monitor and report on the progress of all sample requests
• Ensure ingredient declaration records for samples remain accurate and up to date
• Organize and oversee the library of supplier reference samples
• Facilitate and verify documentation shared between customers and Lakeside Tower Foods Asia
• Represent customers during on-site production runs
• Collaborate with the technical team on factory audits aligned with customer standards
• Confirm the accuracy of due diligence documentation submitted on customers' behalf

Qualifications:

• Qualified to degree level in a related field such as Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. 
• Have at least 2-3 years’ experience in product development in food industry. Prior experience in poultry products is a plus.  
• Proven track record of successful product launches.  
• Strong background and Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, BRC, and food safety and quality standard systems. 
• Excellent verbal and written command in English and Thai language skills. 
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with excellent problem-solving abilities. 
• Independent and driven, with the ability to lead discussions with suppliers.  
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.  
• Having a car and valid driving license for visiting suppliers in Thailand is a plus. 

Flexibility for extended travels throughout Asia is essential.
