Our client is a UK-based company that develops high-tech tools and systems used in scientific research and advanced manufacturing. Their products help scientists and engineers study materials at the microscopic and atomic level, work with quantum technologies, and develop new innovations in fields like semiconductors, nanotechnology, and life sciences. Currently, they are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to support the organization and their customers.  

 

The Sales Manager will establish and lead the company’s Material Analysis sales presence in Thailand, driving business growth across Thailand and selected SEA markets. The role will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing new businesses, managing key customer relationships, and expanding market share for the product portfolio. The overall responsibilities are outlined as follows:

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for Thailand and assigned Southeast Asian markets.
  • Achieve and exceed annual revenue, profitability and growth targets.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the semiconductor, electronics, advanced materials, automotive, aerospace and research sectors.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities and maintain accurate sales forecasts through CRM.
  • Develop long-term relationships with senior decision-makers, engineers, scientists, procurement teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic account plans to increase customer penetration, retention and long-term revenue.
  • Support major projects, tenders and capital equipment procurement processes.
  • Manage and develop distributors, OEM partners and other channel partners across the territory.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, emerging technologies and changing customer requirements.
  • Represent Our Client at exhibitions, conferences, seminars, workshops and other industry events.
  • Work closely with regional applications, service, marketing, product management and sales teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Materials Science, Physics, Nanotechnology or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ successful sales experience in scientific instrumentation, analytical equipment, semiconductor solutions, materials characterisation, capital equipment or a related high-technology industry.
  • A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in Thailand and/or Southeast Asia.
  • Strong experience in business development, territory management and strategic account management.
  • Experience managing distributors, OEM partners or indirect sales channels.
  • A sound understanding of complex customer buying processes, tender management and capital equipment sales cycles.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work independently and develop a market with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Knowledge of SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), FIB (Focused Ion Beam), EDS/EBSD/WDS, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray analytical techniques would be advantageous.
