Our client is a UK-based company that develops high-tech tools and systems used in scientific research and advanced manufacturing. Their products help scientists and engineers study materials at the microscopic and atomic level, work with quantum technologies, and develop new innovations in fields like semiconductors, nanotechnology, and life sciences. Currently, they are seeking an experienced SEA Application Specialist to support the organization and their customers.
The SEA Application Specialist will provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and clients, including providing sales support, business development, training, and application development/ improvements. The role will require frequent travel to customers throughout SEA region. The overall responsibilities are outlined as follows:
- Support key customer accounts across Southeast Asia by understanding application needs and recommending suitable solutions.
- Provide pre-sales technical consultation and application support for sales teams and distributors.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for distributors and OEM partners.
- Represent the company at workshops, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and customer events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Manage demonstration and loan equipment to support business objectives.
- Conduct product demonstrations, workshops, seminars, and customer training.
- Prepare clear application reports and technical documentation.
- Provide application and technical support to customers, sales, and service teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms.
- Develop new applications, technical notes, application notes, and scientific publications.
- Provide feedback on product enhancements, software bugs, and usability improvements.
- Develop correlative applications integrating SEM/EDS/EBSD with techniques such as FIB, TEM, Raman, AFM, and Nanoindentation.
- Maintain and expand technical knowledge through continuous training.
- Share knowledge and best practices with customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate closely with regional sales, application, marketing, and headquarters teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Geology, Mineralogy, or related discipline.
- Minium of 3 years of hands-on experience in SEM, EDS, EBDS, FIB. Preferred experience in TEM and multi-technique materials characterization.
- Experience in nanoindentation, fatigue and fracture analysis, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy/imaging/microscopy is an advantage.
- Strong command of spoken and written Thai and English languages. Fluency in Madarin, Malay, or Vietnamese are advantageous.
- Familiar with MS Office and basic Python or C/C++ programming.
